The Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, National Scenic Byways Program and Washington State Legislature, completed a major construction project to build Snoqualmie Point Park. Just south of eastbound Interstate 90 exit 27, the new City of Snoqualmie park could have become office buildings. Instead the park site and surrounding lands on Rattlesnake Mountain have been protected for the public. Photos of the construction of visitor facilities:

The new Rattlesnake Mountain Trail will allow hikers to go from Rattlesnake Lake (I-90 exit 32) and hike 11 miles to Snoqualmie Point (I-90 exit 27.)

This scenic viewpoint was protected in park status by the cooperative work of The Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, the Trust for Public Land, the City of Snoqualmie and the USDA Forest Service.

US Senator Slade Gorton championed this conservation project in Congress and Representative Jennifer Dunn secured funds to plan this park.

Surrounding public forests provide public recreation, sustainable timber harvest, wildlife habitat and clean air and water.
