Youth Volunteers

Gardiner Creek Youth VolunteersVolunteers under the age of 18 work on projects in the Greenway nearly every Saturday throughout the year.  Our events are perfect for youth volunteers as they are catered toward service learning; we try to incorporate as much education as we can into each project, with topics including restoration, conservation, and plant biology.  We encourage youth volunteers to Sign Up for events to receive community service credit, as part of a scout project, or simply because they care about the environment and want to help!

There are a few minor stipulations for youth volunteers:

Each individual must fill out and bring a Youth Waiver form (signed by a parent or gaurdian).

If the volunteer is being dropped off by a parent or gaurdian, we require that the adult return to the project site to pick up the youth volunteer at no later than 3:00 pm (earlier is preferable however, as projects sometimes finish early).

Additionally, the parent or gaurdian must be reachable by phone for the ENTIRE DAY and must be able to pick up the youth volunteer within a half hour of a phone call.  This is especially important in the case of an emergency.

If these requirements are unable to be met, please consider signing up for another day that's more accomodating, or contact the Volunteer Program at volunteer@mtsgreenway.org to work something out.  We hope to see you out on a project sometime soon!
